Some reminders about becoming a member of the Shoreacres Pier!
You must be a resident or property owner in the City of Shoreacres, TX! Proof of residency is required such as Driver's License, Water Bill, Harris County Appraisal District (HCAD) screen shot, or another government doc showing your Shoreacres address.
Cost is $100!
Pier Update, August 2023
A message from your Board President, Barry Plante:
August 2023 Pier Update:
Sadly we were unsuccessful in obtaining funds this calendar year to repair
the pier. I am getting information from the Port of Houston as to the
reasons why so that maybe next year we will be more successful.
In the interim, the SRA will invest $10-$12,000 to extend the pier to the
tee. I am seeking help from Pier repair/construction companies to repair
the damaged pilings. This will likely be the majority of the expense due to
the high mobilization costs for the equipment to do so.
I do have a favor to ask. If anybody knows of a company that might be able
to help offset the full expense or perform this work as a donation, please
have them contact Barry Plante (832) 373-8723 or Kelly Sullenger (832) 996-8089.
Major Announcement on Pier Key (Access) Day:
Pier Keyless Time
Effective July 1, 2023, the traditional padlocks on the pier will be replaced with smart locks that require the use of an app on a smart phone.
In addition, there will no longer be a Pier Key Day. Rather, beginning June 15, 2023, Shoreacres residents and property owners can pay for access to the boat ramp and pier online and get immediate access using the smart lock.
The cost of membership is as follows. This will be automated when signing up during the course of the year.
Quarter Start to End Cost: (Maximum cost to members is $100)
1 July 1 to June 30 - $100
2 Oct 1 to June 30 - $75
3 Jan 1 to June 30 - $50
4 Apr 1 to June 30 - $25
To obtain access to the pier or boat ramp, follow the steps below:
1. Beginning June 15th , visit www.srapier.org and click on MEMBERSHIP.
2. You will be required to enter your name, address, email address, and smart phone number and provide proof of residency or property ownership.
3. Once complete, you must agree to the SRA rules that are listed and you will be asked to provide your payment information.
4. Upon completion of the payment information, you will be sent a link (from Master Lock) to download the Master Lock Vault Enterprise application or app on your smart phone.
5. After signing up, you can go to the pier and unlock and lock the Master locks.
NOTE:
Any misleading property or resident information (which will be subsequently verified), will result in terminating your access and you will not be given a refund. Also, it is paramount that you do not share your access information (email and password) to others outside your immediate household. We will also be monitoring lock usage for suspicious activities. If it is determined that your access information has been distributed to non-members, you will be permanently disbarred from using the pier again.
